Meke Baby was conceptualized during the COVID-19 lockdowns when Elysia and Chris, parents to their first-born, Armani, found themselves in a grocery store. Elysia was grappling with mastitis and didn't have enough milk for the day. With cafes closed and no feeding rooms available, they were left with a crying baby and no way to feed her as there was no hot water around. A search for baby warmers left Elysia, the founder of Meke Baby, surprised at the lack of innovation in The Australian market.
It’s time to keep up with the times.
This sparked a lengthy journey into a complete rethinking of the way milk is warmed up on the go. Questions were raised about the necessity of using thermoses, insulated bags, or the nearest pot of water. Is this truly the only way to warm up milk? In a world where technology is advancing at an unprecedented rate, is this all that we can do in 2023?
Meke Baby set out to create a product that is food-grade and ensures the protection of the vital nutrients and antibodies present in milk, even while being heated.
Success!
How obvious “how has this not been done before?”. Friends and family loved the idea. Finally, a solution for every mum, dad, grandma or grandad! “This is a game changer.” — Something had struck, they knew they were onto something great, this was going to offer convenience to everyone who needed to heat milk while they were out and about!
